Construction of a new steel framed two storey maths and science teaching block within live school campus.

  • The project consisted of a new two storey steel frame extension to an existing school.
  • An existing single storey classroom was demolished making room for a new maths and science teaching block.
  • The building had traditional foundations, with steel frame and masonry construction with standing seam roofing.
  • Externally the building was clad with facing brickwork and rock panel cladding.
  • Internally the building has predominantly exposed services and concrete soffits to the classrooms.
  • It was designed to allow flexible future alterations so that the standard classrooms could be converted into future science labs.
  • The existing laboratory furniture was removed from existing areas and relocated into two new science labs rooms.
  • An existing multi use games areas was extended and overlaid with new tarmac to form new MUGA’s.
  • The scheme was constructed within a live school campus.
  • This project was completed safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
