Demolition and then new build extension of a WC block in the centre of the School. We also carried out roofing remedials to the main School building which consisted of stripping the roof, then installing new installation and new battens and tiles. This project was a design and build scheme.
- Working within a live school
- Working with strict delivery and access times
- Timber frame construction on site, then installation
- Tight programme dates to accommodate the School and their term dates
- Asbestos removal within a School
The works consisted of the demolition works of the School’s existing WC block, then new foundations and timber frame construction of a new WC block. The building was finished with vinyl flooring and ceiling grid. Three new toilets were installed and an accessible WC. A large cloakroom area was also constructed with two store rooms. Externally, a new ramp was installed with associated handrails as well as a new canopy. The School’s main building roof was stripped back and then new insulation, roofing battens and roofing tiles installed. Throughout the project various asbestos removal works were carried out, including the roof to the existing WC block prior to demolition and fascia boarding surrounding the School’s administration building.
