Work is underway on new West Oxfordshire housing site

E G Carter & Co Ltd are pleased to have started works on the former Cottsway Housing scheme in West Oxfordshire.

Housing Association, Cottsway is completely redeveloping Lavender Place in Bampton to create 18 new homes for rent. Planning permission was confirmed to redevelop the vacated 1960s property earlier this year, with work on site delayed due to Coronavirus.

Colin Bloodworth, Cottsway’s Assistant Director of Development and Assets, said: “We’re delighted that work has finally begun and we can start to transform this outdated site into more much-needed affordable housing. We’re particularly pleased to be providing these new modern homes all for social rent, helping to meet local demand in areas where rental prices are high.”

The redevelopment of the sites has been planned since 2017 and Cottsway has relocated all previous customers to more suitable, improved accommodation in preparation for the work to take place.

Phillip Barnes, Associate Director at E G Carter & Co Ltd, said: “E G Carter are committed to providing high quality homes and are pleased to be working with Cottsway on this redevelopment. It’s fantastic to finally be able to start work after the delays due to the UK lockdown. We hope to have completed the demolition onsite by the end of this year and construction of the 18 new flats by Spring 2022.”
