Senior Site Manager, Graham Lammas wins Richard Carter Cup

Congratulations to Senior Site Manager, Graham Lammas on winning the Richard Carter Cup at this year’s annual Health and Safety conference.

The award recognises outstanding health and safety performance throughout the year; the Cup is handed to the individual or team that deserves to be identified for their hard work regarding health and safety.

Graham has been with E G Carter & Co Ltd for 15 years and worked on a range of sites including Oxford Brookes University, Watermoor Primary School and now Pates Grammar School based in Cheltenham. The award was given to Graham for his outstanding awareness to Health and Safety on site.

Since January of this year Graham and the team have been based on our site at Pates Grammar School. Over a 15-month period, the schools site will be transformed, with the main focal point of the project being the construction of a new three-storey Sixth Form Centre and Library, which is located at the entrance of the site and has required a great deal of traffic management to construct safely. In conjunction with the main build Graham has also managed the completion of more modest sized schemes on the site such as a new PE Store and classrooms.

Graham reflected on his award saying “I am overwhelmed to have won the Richard Carter Cup. When it comes to Health and Safety I am extremely vigilant, when running a site my main priority is the safety of everyone who enters. I would like to thank all of the team who help our sites run as smoothly as they do”

Not only is Graham and his team a worthy winner for this award, he has also been nominated for a BSG award for Health and Safety in Planning and Design. The Awards are in November, fingers crossed for Graham until then.

Congratulations Graham.
