The ground-breaking event, attended by Selwood Housing Group board members, Stella Shepherd, Richard Yates, Cllr Steve Oldrieve and E G Carter & Co Ltd site team celebrated the beginning of work to transform the former school building into three shared ownership homes, along with an additional 18 homes for shared ownership and social rent.

Paul Walsh, Selwood Housing Group Development Director said, “We’re pleased with the progress which has already been made by our contractor E G Carter & Co Ltd. The temporary buildings situated around the site have now been cleared, and the important work to transform the former old school building has started. Brownfield sites like this give us the opportunity to deliver high quality affordable local homes with a fantastic central location, whilst redeveloping derelict areas. We look forward to seeing the first of these properties delivered in summer 2020.”

Phil Barnes, Associate Director at E G Carter & Co Ltd said “We are delighted to have supported Selwood in securing planning permission for this land led affordable housing development and are looking forward to delivering the new homes in 2020.”
