Richard Carter Health & Safety Cup

Congratulations to the Morland Road Housing team on winning the Richard Carter Cup at this year’s annual Health and Safety conference.

The award recognises outstanding health and safety performance throughout the year; the Cup is handed to the individual or team that deserves to be identified for their hard work regarding health and safety.

Morland Road, Highbridge is a 60 plus housing scheme and the largest multi dwelling scheme E G Carter & Co Ltd have undertaken in recent years. The site was made complicated by a need to raise levels for environmental reasons, resulting in challenging retaining issues and piled foundations.

The site, adjacent to a school and in the heart of an established residential area, meant that due to the speed of construction and the challenging programme it would need to be delivered without detriment to health and safety considerations.

At any one time upwards of 60 individuals were working on this site, due to the site being based near Bridgewater not all of the contractors were from our established supply chains. Throughout the project the BSG reports were, in the main, exemplary with only positive comments received.

Not only is Kevin Thomas and the team a worthy nomination for this award, Kevin is the first Site Manager in our Company to receive a Silver Considerate Constructors Award for his outstanding work on the recently completed Broadfields and Stratton housing projects completed for our client Aster Housing Association.

Well done to:
Kevin Thomas – Site Manager
Stuart Durrans – Assistant Site Manager
Terry Conley – Contracts Manager
Craig Powell – Surveyor
Zoe Bartholomew – Management Trainee
Robert Mustoe – Management Trainee
