Ian joined E G Carter & Co Ltd in 2004 to head up our Major Works Teams. He became a Director of the Company in 2015 and his contribution during his time with us was fundamental in helping the Company succeed in the way it has. Ian gave the Company the confidence to take on much larger construction projects and the force of his personality, his drive and his energy ensured we delivered those larger scale projects to our clients’ satisfaction.
Ian forged a dynamic Major Works Team combining the talents and experience of longstanding E G Carter & Co Ltd employees with an intake of new recruits who are now also longstanding E G Carter & Co Ltd employees.
Throughout his time with the Company Ian made a huge contribution with regards to Health and Safety management culminating in our award as the Building Safety Group Contractor of the Year 2018. He was also instrumental in the development of the fourth generation of Carters, Josh, Sam and Gavin in preparation for their future roles leading the business. In 2015 it was right he was made a Director and only sad that illness prevented him making the same dynamic contribution at Board level.
The bravery and fortitude with which Ian approached not only his diagnosis and illness but also his continued commitment to the Company during this period was an inspiration to us all and he will be greatly missed.
