E G Carter partner with South Western Housing Society to provide 12 new affordable homes

Over the next 40 weeks E G Carter & Co Ltd have partnered with South Western Housing Society to transform a greenfield site into 12 new affordable rent homes for the local people of Mark.

The 40-week project will consist of piling, a timber frame structure, a swale for the excess storm water and ground source heat pumps to provide energy efficiency and reduce running costs.

On Wednesday 29^th November a Ground-Breaking Ceremony was held to celebrate the start of construction. Mathew Vye, Manager at E G Carter & Co Ltd said “We are looking forward to working alongside South Western Housing Society and constructing the much-needed affordable homes in Mark.”

Donna Johnson, Chief Executive at South Western Housing Society said “This scheme will enable local people to live in a beautiful place at a price that is affordable. We are delighted to be working alongside our contractor and local authority partners to meet this need”

On completion four one-bedroom flats, two two-bedroom bungalows, four two-bedroom houses and two three-bedroom houses will provide much needed affordable homes for the residents within the area.

Completion of the 12 new homes is expected in late 2018.
