E G Carter & Co Ltd partner with local schools for work experience

Last week we had the pleasure of mentoring five work experience students from Holmleigh Park High School and two from Chosen Hill School.

Darryl Evans, Phillip Godwin, Ryan Morris, Marek Kuczynski, Alisha Mullins, Toby Wakefield and Elliot Martin all worked alongside our employees as they experienced work life in Construction. Their day to day varied from site visits, surveying meetings, working with Quattro Architects and looking at the practical side of a construction site.

Alisha Mullins from Holmleigh Park High School wanted to learn about the construction process, from design conception to project handover. Throughout the week she spent two days at Quattro Architects to see how closely the construction industry work together with their partners. By Friday Alisha had a better understanding of what actually goes into a project.

Joshua Carter, Contracts Manager and mentor of the Apprentice and Management Trainee scheme, said “E G Carter & Co Ltd get involved with work experience week each year, it’s all about encouraging young people to take an interest in the working world as well as finding something that inspires them. We have worked together with Holmleigh Park High School for many years now, and it’s great to help the future generation find their passion.”
