On Tuesday 9th November E G Carter & Co Ltd made a student's dream come true at the MacIntyre Charity over at the Abingdon and Witney College Campus.

The MacIntyre Charity work in partnership with Further Education and Independent Specialist colleges to provide an inclusive and flexible model of education for young people aged 16 and over and are based on the Abingdon and Witney Campus in Oxfordshire.

The unique MacIntyre No Limits approach enables young people with Autism, Special Education Needs and Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs to continue their education and develop skills in preparation for adulthood.

Student, Jamie spent his breaks and lunches watching the construction team (especially the digger) as E G Carter & Co Ltd started work on the Green Construction Skills Centre. A 30-week project consisting of the construction of a 2 storey teaching facility and new car park.

Our Site Manager Colin Bellamy wanted to give Jamie a surprise, so organised for the digger to sit outside of the MacIntyre Centre where he would have the opportunity to sit in it and look at all the controls.

Colin Bellamy, Site Manager at E G Carter & Co Ltd said “ We were delighted to have made Jamie’s dream come true, over on site we have developed a strong friendship with Jamie as he admires our work on a daily basis. We are excited to see what he thinks of the completed project next year”

Jamie was well and truly overwhelmed and for everyone who witnessed the special surprise their hearts all grew a little bigger - what a beautiful moment to capture.
