E G Carter & Co Ltd look around the Cancer Research UK Laboratories

Over the past year E G Carter & Co Ltd have been supporting Cancer Research UK and Gloucestershire Nightstop with fundraising events, sponsorship and much more.

We are delighted to say that over the past 12 months we have raised £7,416.94.Today (Thursday, 25th January) we were honoured to attend Southmead Hospital Research and Learning Laboratories in Bristol to see how the money that we raised helps the research into Cancer. Inside the lab we were shown some of the research that is currently underway and told of the breakthroughs they have had so far. During the tour we were able to get our hands dirty and work like scientists, as we moved cells into different containers and looked at the cancer cells via microscope.

Whist there one of our Directors, who is also an ambassador of Cancer Research’s Relay for Life, Ian Brown, presented a cheque on behalf of E G Carter & Co Ltd to Cancer Research’s Local Fundraising Manager, James Rogers. Ian said, “Cancer Research UK is particularly close to my heart and all of the fantastic research that is being done is great. It’s only a matter of time before a cure is found and that’s thanks to everyone’s fundraising efforts.”

James Rogers said, “It has been fantastic to have E G Carter’s support for another year, every penny raised by them has made a big difference to the research we are able to carry out.”

Throughout 2018, E G Carter & Co Ltd will be supporting a National Charity, Children with Cancer and a Local Charity, The James Hopkins Trust.
