E G Carter & Co Ltd help Year 4 children by supporting their first trip on an aeroplane.

E G Carter & Co Ltd are delighted to be supporting Finlay Community School as a class of year 4 children embark on their first aeroplane journey to Edinburgh.

During May and June, the children will be focusing on developing their historical skills, through learning about the history of flight. To help the children understand the subject, Kerry Davies, a teacher at the school has organised for the children to be taken on an aeroplane to and from Edinburgh.

Kerry said “To make this learning relevant to our children, I am planning to take the them all on a real aeroplane journey, so they can experience modern day flight. For many of them, this will be their first time on a plane. I am currently looking at a trip from Bristol Airport to Edinburgh in June 2019. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for some.

As a school, we ensure that our curriculum is designed to raise aspirations, for children to develop a sense of place in the wider world and enable them to make a valuable contribution to society. We believe, that this will help them build themselves a better future!”

E G Carter & Co Ltd commenced works at the School in February, under their Framework agreement with Gloucestershire County Council. The School contacted E G Carter & Co td whilst looking for sponsorship.

E G Carter & Co Ltd have donated £500 pounds towards the trip. Sam Carter, E G Carter & Co Ltd said “We are thrilled to be supporting Finlay Community School and are looking forward to helping the children understand more about modern day travel and creating memories to last a lifetime, hopefully it is a successful trip for the school.”

E G Carter & Co Ltd are currently on site at Finlay Community School as they renovate and extend the school to provide more classrooms, as the school continues to grow. The works are due for completion in October 2019.
