Director through to final heats at ITV's Pride of Britain Awards

Ian Brown has been successful in the regional heats for the ITV Fundraiser of the year at The Pride of Britain Awards.

Ian Brown, Director at E G Carter & Co Ltd and an avid charity runner has raised £60,000 for Cancer Research UK while battling cancer and has won a regional award for ITV Fundraiser of the Year.

Ian will now go through to the final heats of The Pride in Britain Awards at a prestigious ceremony held in London at the end of the month.

In the four years since he was first diagnosed with cancer, Ian has suffered 11 brain tumours and lost a lung. But he keeps on fighting and has never stopped helping others.

Having raised £60,000 for Cancer Research UK over the years, Cancer Research UK’s regional fundraiser, James Rogers, paid tribute to Ian’s determination and spirit.

He said: “Ian is hands down one of the most inspirational people I have ever met and I feel honoured to have supported him with his fundraising over the last 4 years.

“During that time, I have never once heard him complain or get downbeat about anything and considering what he has been through, that is pretty amazing. Ian is always looking to help others, raise money, share his story and raise awareness of cancer.

This award is very much deserved and a testament not just to him but his amazing family and friends who have supported him throughout his journey battling cancer.”
