The new development consists of 12 new homes with all units occupied by local people with a connection to the village. The homes consist of a modern traditional blend with a mixture of render and timber cladding, all complimenting the natural surroundings.

Donna Johnson, CEO of South Western Housing Society said “‘This development began as a dream to provide affordable homes for people with a connection to the village of Mark and I am extremely proud to have been a part of its fulfilment. Like any rural location, the project faced land challenges and was subject to very close scrutiny. A strong and collaborative working relationship between E G Carter, the local parish and Sedgemoor Council enabled us to deliver an exemplar development that will provide safe, warm and secure homes for people priced out of the market for many years to come.”

Two of the twelve homes will be occupied by new parents Mia Bevis and Thalia Bonell both living next to each other. Mia Bevis, 19 said, “This new home will be great for us, it will give us the independence we need as new parents and a chance to grow as a family. I’m looking forward to our little boy making friends with Thalia’s boy as they grow up. Our lives have completely changed, not only will we be a proper family, but we will live in a beautiful house in a wonderful community.”
