E G Carter & Co Ltd Celebrates Completion of Ian Coley Shooting School Expansion Project

E G Carter & Co Ltd are delighted to have successfully handed over the expansion project of the shooting school for Ian Coley Sporting. The project involved the construction of a single-storey extension increasing the size of the existing retail and foyer areas whilst also incorporating a new hospitality / events space and vibrant café within the shooting school's premises. The grand opening was graced by Adam Bromfield, Managing Director of Ian Coley Sporting.

Adam Bromfield, Managing Director for Ian Coley Sporting said, ‘We’re delighted with the work that E G Carter & Co Ltd have undertaken. Thanks to the E G Carter team, we’ve been able to continue trading throughout the build, which has been critical to our ongoing success. We now have one of the best purpose-built clay shooting facilities in the UK.’

E G Carter & Co Ltd partnered with Quattro Architects to bring Ian Coley’s Shooting Schools vision to life. The project consisted of a considerable expansion to the footprint of the existing building, utilising a vast steel truss partnered with timber frame works, then infilled with SIPS panels. The roof was constructed using a combination of a single ply membrane and traditional slate.

Aesthetically, larch cladding was affixed to a considerable amount of the exterior of the building to ensure the finish was in keeping with the surrounding wooded area housing the school. The remainder of the extended areas received a traditional Cotswold stonework finish twinned with render panels. A new terrace overlooking the lawned portions of the grounds was also incorporated within the design to facilitate external events and to allow clients additional seating during the summer months.

Sympathetic external lighting and landscaping completed the external adjustments to the site, creating a welcoming environment for all new and existing clients to the school.

Mark Harries Associate Director at E G Carter & Co Ltd said “It has been a pleasure working alongside the team on this one. This project is a great example of how with the entire team working collaboratively from the outset, complex and high-quality projects can be achieved within both cost and programme”.

The expansion creates a one-stop destination for all country lifestyle enthusiasts, and a fantastic new space for corporate events and activities in the Southwest and West Midlands.
