The new development called Crown Court is located in the centre of Thatcham and required the demolition and asbestos strip of an existing sheltered housing development which was no longer in use.
The 9 new homes were constructed using timber frame in order to maximise thermal efficiency and clad in brickwork to match the local vernacular.
In order to make these homes more affordable Sovereign Housing Association has made all of the new properties shared ownership, they said, “These quality properties are truly affordable, thanks to shared ownership, a simple and manageable way to own your own home. Buy an initial share in your home and pay a discounted rent on the rest. Then, as your finances allow, you can purchase further shares in your home as and when you choose, until you own it outright.”
