E G Carter & Co Ltd build Covid secure rooms for care homes to enable family visits this Christmas

Over the last three weeks E G Carter & Co Ltd have constructed visitor rooms at seventeen local care homes ready for Family and friends to visit their loved ones over Christmas.

Works started at the end of November and took around 3 weeks for all 17 care homes visitor rooms to be complete. The Orders of St John Care Trust employed E G Carter & Co Ltd to construct Covid secure visitor rooms to enable family and friends to visit their loved ones over Christmas and remain safe.

Matthew Dyke, Surveyor at E G Carter & Co Ltd said “We are delighted to construct visitor rooms which safely enable family members to visit their loved ones face-to-face, behind the newly installed glazed screen maintaining appropriate safe/social distancing but providing invaluable family time. All works were safely undertaken following the strictest health & safety measures and Covid guidelines, including wearing face masks and coveralls to minimise the risk to staff and residents alike.”

The works comprised of the installation of a new stud partition consisting of a large glazed screen and an ash veneered door within existing rooms across 17 OSJCT care homes in Gloucestershire to form a new Visitor Rooms. Some of the local care homes to benefit from the new rooms were Monkscroft Care home Cheltenham, Chestnut Court Quedgeley, Henlow Court Dursley, The Lakes care centre Cirencester and 13 others.
