E G Carter & Co Ltd is delighted to announce the expansion of its Board of Directors with the appointment of three highly accomplished individuals: Mat Vye, Thomas Jones, and Phil Barnes. These appointments reflect the company’s commitment to future-proofing its leadership and ensuring its enduring success.
From 1st January 2025, the new Board members will bring their expertise and dedication to their roles:
Phil Barnes, Pre-Construction Director, core responsibilities to include the procurement of new work, primarily within the Partnership Housing team. Phil will also provide increasing support to the wider company including aspects of commercial control.
Thomas Jones, Construction Director, will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Major Works team, focusing on the operational and production aspects of projects. This includes ensuring the highest standards of health and safety, quality, and programme management.
Mat Vye, Residential Director, will lead the Partnership Housing team, maintain relationships with framework partners, and drive the continued procurement of new opportunities. Mat will also manage the financial and operational controls of ongoing workloads and take on some wider commercial control responsibilities.
The new directors join an established and experienced Board led by Joshua Carter and Sam Carter, Managing Directors, Michael Carter, Chairman, David Carter, Company Secretary and Peter Burrows, Director. This leadership team has been instrumental in steering the company’s progress while upholding the core values and principles that have defined E G Carter & Co Ltd as a fourth-generation family-owned business.
As E G Carter & Co Ltd approaches its 100th anniversary in 2045, these appointments reflect the company’s dedication to innovation, sustainability, and independence. By expanding the Board, the company aims to remain true to its ethos while continuing to move forward and achieve its ambitions for the future.
