This statement which is fundamentally embedded within our working practices has never been more relevant than in the current Coronavirus Pandemic.
Following the Prime Minister’s address to the nation on Monday 23rd March 2020, we ceased all of our construction activity from Friday 27th March 2020.
Since that date the Government have made it clear that the construction industry plays a vital role in supporting the UK economy and that, where we are confident we can safely operate our sites, we should continue to do so.
We have extensively reviewed the site operating procedures published by the Construction Leadership Council, and aligned with the latest guidance from Public Health England, the Health and Safety Executive and our Health and Safety Advisors, the Building Safety Group. Working also in conjunction with our clients, we have been exploring whether it is practical and sensible to recommence a proportion of our onsite construction activity.
The letter dated 31st March 2020 from the Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy and published on our website, alongside this statement, allows us to continue construction activity so long as we comply with strict site operating procedures concerning social distancing, segregation, sanitisation together with other measures to ensure everyone’s safety, especially at this time.
We have put in place the necessary measures to protect our workforce and the general public to ensure we comply with the site operating procedures, as published, and thereby facilitating the recommencement of our onsite activities.
